Work Immigration Process to Hungary
Immigrating to Hungary for work is straightforward and well-structured. The process begins with preparing the invitation documents—a preliminary agreement establishing your employment relationship with a Hungarian employer. Once completed, these documents are sent to you.
After receiving your invitation, you will schedule and attend your visa appointment. Once approved, you will obtain your National Visa D (single entry, valid for 30 days) and travel to Hungary.
Upon arrival:
Begin working with your employer
Apply for your Residence Card for Seasonal Employment, which allows you to live and work in Hungary as long as you remain employed with the same company
Additional Benefits:
Your residence status can be extended for the same purpose for up to 6 months within a 12-month period without leaving Hungary
Free movement within the EU for up to 90 days within any 180-day period
The consulate refers to this program as the Residence Card for Seasonal Employment.
